This I believe

I believe that life is too precious to not live every day to its fullest.

There is a common saying said by many people “tomorrow’s another day”.  But is there always a tomorrow?  We hope there is but that is not always true.  Many people take a lot of things for granted.  Whether it is the people in their life, how blessed they are financially, or how successful they are,  I believe the largest and most important thing commonly taken for granted is life.

The scary thing about life is that for many people, it is very routine.  Obviously every day is different but at night you go to bed, and the next morning you wake up and here is another day.  It is thought eventually you will pass away, but that wont be for another sixty or seventy years.  There are fragile and precious things in our life, but nothing is as fragile and precious as life itself.

A special person in my life taught me this.  My great grandfather was a man of many words.  His wisdom was unbelievable and his stories were always inspiring.  He was one of the happiest people I have ever known in my life.  No matter what was going on in his life, no matter how hard he struggled, he was happy.  He lived his life to the fullest he possibly could, and enjoyed every minute of it.  This, is why I believe in that life is too precious to not appreciate everyone in your life and to not live it to the fullest.  When my great grandfather passed away, I only had one regret.  It was that I did not get to tell him I loved him.  I just thought, eh, there will be plenty more times that I can tell him I love him.  That was not true.  He passed away before I got that chance, so I believe that you should never wait, never hold back when it comes to something you want to do, because you really never know if there will be another opportunity to do what you wanted to do.

Though its only been 17 years, I feel like I have been through a lot in my life.  Many things do not go the way I wish they would, but I have learned to not dwell on them, and to think positively.  The difference between me and someone else, is that the phrase “Think Positively” is just constantly mentioned to them, but it has no impact on them.  It goes in one ear, and out the other and they continue to look at the glass half full.  You have to have the mindset to turn things around, and look at the bright side, and to make the best of every situation.  You cannot let things in life get you down.  Life’s a roller coaster and will always have its ups and downs.  But life is short, sometimes shorter than you may really think, and that’s why I personally believe that you should enjoy every day and live each and every minute like there will not be a tomorrow.

Life is a very precious thing.  Some people carry on through life, just moving along living an average, okay life.  Life can be anything you make it.  No matter your situation, life will be what you make of it.  It is too fragile and short to not make the best of every situation and to be positive about things.  Not every day is perfect, but why let it stay as a bad day?  Turning that bad day into a better day is a key aspect of living your life.  I know that at the end of my life I want to look back and know, that I enjoyed every single minute of it.  Life is precious, so live it to the fullest.
